What to expect:
Your tattoo will take about 2 weeks to heal. It will be tender for the first few days, then it will develop light scabs and appear crusty, these will gradually flake off. During this period the tattoo may look ugly and it may seem that the color is falling out with the scabs. Don’t worry, this is normal. The last stage is when the tattoo looks healed but is still waxy or shiny on the surface. The directions below should be followed until the tattoo is fully healed.
Directions:
- Leave the bandage on for at least 2 hours.
- Remove the bandage and do not re-bandage it. Wetting the bandage while removing it will help prevent it from sticking to your skin.
- Wash your hands, then wash the tattoo firmly using mild soap and warm water, rinse the tattoo off and pat dry. NO SCRUBBING!
- Each day keep the area clean and apply one of the recommended lotions once a day. Don’t keep too much lotion on the tattoo. However, don’t let it dry out completely between applications. Make sure your hands are clean each time you touch your tattoo and never let anyone else touch it.
Lotions:
For the ENTIRE period that the tattoo is healing, use ONLY the lotions that are recommended, NO EXCEPTIONS. This is extremely important. No Vaseline, baby oil, alcohol, alcohol based products, peroxide, mineral oil, bag balm, Vitamin E, Aloe, Noxzema, natural remedies, etc. We also do not recommended Neosporin;. It is not a good product for healing tattoos. Many people have strong reactions to it and often times it actually pulls the color out during the healing process.
Recommended Lotions:
Aveeno (fragrance free), Aquaphor, Curel lotion, Cetaphil lotion
On rare occasions some people may develop a reaction to one of these lotions. You will know if you develop bumps or pimples around the area. This is not a problem, wash the area and switch to one of the other recommended lotions. Do not continue using lotion if you have a reaction.
Do’s and Don’ts:
- You can shower as normal. But, for the 2-week healing period do not submerge or soak your tattoo in any way. No swimming, hot tubs, or saunas. It will interfere with healing and can cause infections and scarring.
- Do not expose your tattoo to direct sunlight for the 2-week period. Keep it covered with clothing.
- Do not pick at the tattoo! Let the scabs fall off naturally. No scratching, rubbing or abuse to the tattoo in any manner.
- Once your tattoo is healed, you may go in the sun but keep in mind the sun rapidly fades your tattoo and if you plan on being in the sun, use sunscreen to protect it. Don’t use sunscreen for at least a month after getting a tattoo and try to test an area to make sure you don’t have a reaction.
Important notice:
Despite constant efforts to ensure all our pigments meet the highest standard of quality and purity, the application of some pigments to some individuals may cause an allergic reaction, due to the sensitivity of the person. The tattoo is not guaranteed when you leave the studio. We have given you the very best in art, the very best in color and the tattoo was applied expertly under the most sterile conditions. You are responsible for its care in the next few days. Follow these guidelines and enjoy your new tattoo!

Yes! We start children’s lobe piercings at age four.
To schedule a tandem ear piercing (two piercers, both lobes done at once), pleae call the studio and let us know your child would like to be pierced tandem.
Pain tolerance varies from person to person, so it's difficult to predict how each individual will feel during a piercing. Our experienced piercers are dedicated to making the procedure as quick, safe, and straightforward as possible.
At Supremacy Ink & Piercing Studios, we prioritize your comfort and privacy, tailoring the experience to meet your needs. Trust your piercer's guidance—they're here to ensure your appointment goes as smoothly and comfortably as possible.
At our studio, pricing is broken down into two parts: a piercing fee and the cost of jewelry. The total cost will vary based on the jewelry you choose to wear during the healing process.
Our expert jewelry specialists will guide you through the selection process, offering options tailored to your specific anatomy, personal style, and budget. If you have any questions or would like more details about pricing, feel free to give us a call—we’re happy to assist!
When you arrive, a jewelry specialist will check your photo ID, handle your paperwork, and guide you through selecting jewelry tailored to your style and needs. Once selected, your jewelry will be sterilized if needed, or prepared from pre-sterilized stock. You'll also receive written aftercare instructions.
After the room is ready, the piercer will bring you back, review aftercare, and answer any questions. They will clean and mark the area, ensuring you’re happy with the placement before proceeding. For some piercings (like daith), markings may not be visible, but your piercer will discuss placement and anatomy considerations beforehand.
Never!
Piercing guns can’t be properly sterilized, cause blunt tissue trauma, use generic jewelry, and are often operated by undertrained individuals.
At supremacy , all piercings are done with a single-use, sterilized hollow needle sized appropriately for your piercing. Though “needle” may sound intimidating, it’s typically less painful than a piercing gun. Our skilled piercers ensure the process is smooth, quick, and as comfortable as possible.
At Supremacy Ink & Piercing Studios, we are not medical professionals and cannot use numbing products.
In truth, any injection to numb the area would likely be more uncomfortable than the piercing itself. The sensation of a piercing is brief, and any discomfort typically fades quickly—often before you even leave the studio.
We strongly advise against using topical numbing agents before your appointment, as they can alter the texture of your tissue and affect the piercing process. If you have used such products, our piercers may need to reschedule your appointment to ensure the best outcome.
To ensure proper healing, piercings should be left undisturbed with the initial jewelry until fully healed. Cartilage piercings, for example, take at least 6 months to heal. If your job or school prohibits visible piercings, consider waiting until a better time.
While we carry glass retainers to keep piercings open, we avoid using them for fresh piercings as they’re less secure than titanium jewelry. For a discreet option, we offer a "freckle" stud made of implant-grade titanium, ideal for nostrils and ear piercings.
Some piercings, like septums, can be easily hidden during healing. Let your jewelry specialist know if you need this option, and they’ll guide you to the best styles.
Ohio body art laws require new piercings to be performed with implant-grade, internally threaded or threadless jewelry. If you purchased jewelry from Good Life, we may be able to resterilize it for future use. For healed piercings, we can install fashion jewelry, and our piercers and jewelry stylists will assess whether the jewelry you bring is suitable for your healed piercing.
For more information about jewelry quality, see the next FAQ: "What is surgical steel/What is implant grade?"
We don’t believe in a "one size fits all" approach to body jewelry. Our skilled piercers choose the right length based on your unique anatomy and leave room for swelling, ensuring proper fit and allowing for optimal healing.
If you have jewelry you’d like to wear later, bring it in! Our piercers will check its dimensions and style to make sure it’s appropriate for your healed piercing.
Getting paired piercings is common, but getting eight at once is not. We generally recommend consulting with a piercer for larger projects and avoiding more than four piercings at a time. Healing multiple piercings simultaneously can slow down the process due to the increased maintenance required and the strain on your immune system.
Everyone has a different threshold for how many piercings they can handle at once, so be sure to communicate your comfort level to your piercer to ensure the best experience.
For ear cartilage piercings, it’s often best to focus on one side at a time, as you’ll need to sleep on one ear during the healing process. Earlobe piercings are more resilient and can generally heal on both sides without too much trouble.
